FAQ

Q: What kind of CNA program is this?
A&E Nursing Skills offers a 75-hour hybrid CNA training program. Week 1 is online, and Week 2 is in-person for hands-on skills training.

Q: Is your program approved by the state?
Yes. Our curriculum meets Ohio Department of Health (ODH) requirements.

Q: How old do I have to be to enroll?
You must be at least 16 years old.

Q: What documents do I need to enroll?

To begin the CNA training program, the following items are required:

1. Non expired Government ID

2. Background Check (Time-Sensitive – Complete First!)

  • Students who purchase the All-Inclusive Package will receive a different Direct Bill Code after registration. Please do not use the code listed below if you selected or plan to select the All-Inclusive option, as your background check is included in your package.

  • Students must complete a background check through Fast Fingerprints.

Visit fastfingerprints.com, enter the Direct Bill Code: MMJVXEF, select a location, and pay the $75 fee.
Both FBI and BCI background checks are required.

3. TB Test

  • A TB test completed within the last 12 months is required.

4. Physical / Health Clearance

  • A physical or health clearance completed within the last 12 months is required.

⚠️ Important: The background check is time-sensitive and should be completed as soon as possible. If it is not received before clinicals begin, you will be unable to attend clinicals for that session. You may be rescheduled to a future session based on availability.

Q: Can I enroll if I have a criminal record?

Yes, you may enroll; however, a criminal record may affect your ability to attend clinicals, complete the program, or become certified.

All students must complete a BCI & FBI background check, and approval for clinical participation is determined by our clinical site and state regulations. Certain offenses (including violent, theft, drug-related, or sex-related offenses) may result in denial.

⚠️ Important: If you are unable to attend clinicals due to your background check, you will not be able to complete the program. Tuition is non-refundable.

Q: How do I register for the program?
You can register directly on our website by selecting register and  your desired class start date and submitting payment.

Q: How is the online portion of the course structured?
The online portion is through our website and it includes videos, quizzes, and reading assignments.

Q: Do I need to log in at specific times for the online course?
Yes. From 8am-430pm and all work must be completed by the end of Week 1.

Q: What equipment do I need for the online portion?
You’ll need internet access and a device like a laptop, desktop, or tablet.

Q: Where is the in-person training held?
In-person training takes place at 2040 E Market St. Suite 1 Akron, Ohio 44312. Clinicals take place at Green Village Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation 708 Moore Road Akron, Ohio 44319


Q: What should I wear during in-person training?
 The first 3-days of in-person training students can wear appropiate everyday clothing along with closed- toe shoes. Students should wear professional wine/burgundy colored scrubs and closed-toe shoes, nametag and lanyard (nametag and lanyard provided by A&E Nursing Skills) during clinicals.

Q: How much does the program cost?
The total cost is $550. The all inclusive package which includes your state test and bakcground check is  $775.

Q: What’s included in the tuition?
Tuition includes 75 hours of online/in person and clinical training and a certificate of completion. Book rental and free optional evening practice before you take your state exam.

Q: What’s not included in the tuition?
State testing fees, TB tests, background checks, physical and optional CPR certification are not included. Background check and state test can be added with All Inclusive Package.

Q: Do you offer a payment plan?
Yes. We accept payment plans with Affirm/PayPal Pay in 4. We also offer 50% down and 50% due before class starts. If you want the 50% option reach out to us via call/text or email and tell us which date and we will send you an invoice. We can do custom 4 split payment plans directly through A&E Nursing Skills please reach out for this option 

Q: What payment methods do you accept?
We accept secure online payments through our website.

Q: Can I get a refund if I change my mind?
No. All payments are non-refundable.

Q: Can I reschedule my class to a future date?
You may contact us prior to your class start date to request rescheduling, but availability is not guaranteed.

Q: Will I be certified after completing this course?
You will receive a certificate of completion, which qualifies you to take the state CNA exam.

Q: Do you schedule the state exam for students?

Students are responsible for scheduling their own state exam.

If you select our All-Inclusive option, A&E Nursing Skills will handle the payment for your exam, while you select a test date that is convenient for you.

We also provide guidance and support to help you complete the registration process.


Q: Is CPR certification included?
No. CPR is offered separately and is not required for completion of the CNA program. CPR classes are offered every other Saturday from 9am-1pm for $75. It includes the course and the skills portion. $50 for students who took our CNA course.

Q: Do you offer job placement after graduation?
While job placement is not guaranteed, A&E Nursing Skills provides resources and guidance to support you in your job search. We also receive information from local employers who reach out to us regarding open positions. Be sure to check our Job Opportunities page for current listings.

Q: Can I work in another state with my Ohio STNA certification?
No. Your Ohio STNA certification only allows you to work in Ohio. To work in another state, you must apply for reciprocity with that state’s Nurse Aide Registry. This process usually includes a short application, background check, and proof that your Ohio certification is active and in good standing.
